Animals on our Farm

There’s no doubt that when you visit a farm you’ll be serenaded by the beautiful sounds of neighs, oinks, baahhhhhs, and quacks. At Lee Farms we have all of those lovely sounds — and more! Whether you are visiting in the warmer seasons or the colder seasons they are pretty much always ready for some pets on the head or some gentle pats on the back. Here are some of the lovely faces we see everyday:

5 Fun Facts For You!

  1. Baby rabbits are called "kittens." They are masters of hearing and can turn their ears 180 degrees! You can often see babies running through the Christmas Trees here on the farm.

  2. Theodore the donkey has lived on our farm since he was a baby. He loves throwing hay on his back which is his instinct to “pack” things around. He doesn’t like full body brushing but he’ll tolerate it if treats are involved.

  3. Chickaletta joins Farm Storytime on Thursdays at 9:30!

  4. All the Lee Family 7 generation kids started out by riding Princess Poppy (not pictured) our Shetland pony born in 2015.

  5. Horses are measured in hands! Dolly our Purebred Percheron Draft Horse mare is 17.3 hands tall. If you’re curious why horses are measured in hands, check out this video: Why are horses measured in hands?
