Pumpkin Patch

With October's cool evenings and sunny days, the pumpkins lay ripe in the pumpkin patch. Families from around the Portland, Oregon area flock to Lees to enjoy the harvest. With 12 varieties of pumpkins all grown in our local fields, everyone is sure to find the perfect pumpkin. Of course we always have a variety of fresh Autumn produce grown on our farm, or by our neighbors. Lees offers a delicious array of Oregon apples including some wonderful heritage varieties rarely found in the supermarket.

The secret to making a great pumpkin pie...

Is to actually use a squash, but not just any type of squash. To make a great pumpkin pie you need to use one of the three specially cultivated squash's that we grow out at Lee Farms. These three types are:

  • Cinderella
  • Valencia
  • Long Island Cheese Wheel

Cinderella pumpkins at our Pumpkin Patch in Tualatin ( Portland ) Oregon - You will be able to learn all about these when you take a hay ride out on the farm where we'll tell you about the different types of pumpkins and squash we raise, but be sure to look for these brightly colored, flat looking pumpkins when you are choosing what to use to make your own "famous pumpkin pie."
